Shipping policy

Last updated: March 2026

Happily Ever Austen aims to dispatch every Chronicle order with care and clarity. The information below explains how our dispatch and delivery process works.

Dispatch

Orders are dispatched using Royal Mail or an equivalent trusted postal service.

For international deliveries, parcels may be transferred to local delivery partners once they reach the destination country.

Chronicle dispatches are sent according to the schedule described on the product page. For seasonal collections or subscription journeys, items may be delivered in stages across multiple dispatches.

Customers may receive a dispatch notification email when their Chronicle issue has been posted.

Delivery Estimates

Estimated delivery times are provided for guidance only and may vary due to postal service performance, customs processing, seasonal demand, or circumstances beyond our control.

Typical delivery estimates are:

United Kingdom
Approximately 2–4 working days after dispatch.

International Orders
Delivery times vary depending on destination country and local postal services.

International Shipping

International customers are responsible for customs duties, taxes, or import fees charged by their country. These charges are determined by local authorities and are outside our control.

Delivery Address Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring their delivery address is accurate and kept up to date.

If your address changes, please notify us as soon as possible and before the next dispatch is sent so we can update your details.

Happily Ever Austen cannot be responsible for items dispatched to an incorrect or outdated address provided at checkout.

If a parcel is returned to us in its original condition due to an incorrect address or delivery failure, we will happily arrange re-dispatch once the correct address has been confirmed, however additional postage costs may apply.

Lost or Delayed Orders

If your order has not arrived within 21 days of dispatch, please contact us so we can investigate with the postal service.

Delivery Confirmation

Where a parcel has been sent using a tracked postal service, delivery confirmation provided by the postal carrier will be used as proof of successful delivery.

If a parcel is marked as delivered but cannot be located, customers should first check with household members, neighbours, or local delivery offices. We will always do our best to assist in raising an enquiry with the postal service where appropriate.

For items sent using standard untracked services, customers may be asked to allow additional time for postal delays before a replacement or refund is considered.
